But wait, you're a dance studio... why start the Westside Players?Miss Kat grew up on the east coast and dreamt of being a Broadway star one day. She was always in rehearsals for a new play or musical, and the youth theatre she grew up at was an integral part of her childhood. She always wanted to bring youth theatre back into her life somehow and she mentioned this to Miss Sophie and the rest is history!

For over 20 years, Upstage Theatre Schools has provided a fun, supportive environment for kids to make friends, create together, and express themselves. With an approach that includes acting, singing, and dancing, Upstage students learn to speak more clearly, move more easily, and act with confidence.
Upstage offers year-round programs and summer camps in West LA, San Gabriel Valley, and Conejo Valley that provide a safe space to explore and grow. In addition, our highly-trained staff travels to area schools to offer in-school programs with outstanding, fully realized productions on school premises.
